My goal is to save lives, not to ration vaccines: Arvind Kejriwal in Khattar

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Monday his focus remains on saving lives rather than rationing vaccine doses, a day after his Haryana counterpart Manohar Lal Khattar accused the AAP government to deplete its vaccine supply too quickly.

Referring to comments from Khattar and BJP Chairman JP Nadda, Delhi Chief Deputy Minister Manish Sisodia criticized the BJP, saying the ruling Center party resorted to “abusing Kejriwal” for ” hide its failures ”in containing the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

Launching a veiled attack against the AAP led by Kejriwal, Nadda had referred to the “Delhi obstacle-makers” on Sunday by addressing the “sewa hi sanghatan” event to mark the BJP’s seven-year mandate. Khattar, meanwhile, made the remarks during an online briefing even as he accused Kejriwal of playing politics on the vaccination campaign.

On Monday, Kejriwal tweeted: “Khattar saheb, vaccines can save lives. The faster the vaccination is done, the more people will be protected. My goal is to save lives, not to ration vaccines. Sisodia later held a digital briefing and accused the BJP of “abusing Kejriwal every time he talks about doing work.”

“The BJP is doing this to hide its failure in handling Covid. When the time came to get vaccines, the focus was on image management and election management. Now when people ask for vaccines and Kejriwal wants to vaccinate as many people as possible to prepare for a possible third wave, they abuse Kejriwal.

“They had cut off the oxygen supply to the people of Delhi. Kejriwal fought in court and secured the supply of oxygen, which saved the lives of thousands of Delhiites. Until the vaccine supply is adequate, it will continue to demand vaccines. The BJP should also focus on immunizing people in states under its jurisdiction, ”Sisodia said.
