Police are investigating a woman who had a large sum of money fraudulently stolen in February.
Investigators learned that the 25-year-old was contacted by phone on February 17 by a man claiming to be Australian Federal Police.
The man claimed she had a tax debt and was told to withdraw $ 15,500 from her personal savings account.
The woman was then told to take the money to Blackwood Street, north Melbourne, on February 18, where she was met by a stranger.
The man took the money and immediately left the area.
The woman contacted police the same day after questioning the legitimacy of the cash transaction.
The man who took the money is seen to be of Indian descent, standing around 170-180cm tall with short black hair and floppy bangs.
He was wearing a red top under a suit blazer.
Investigators have released images of a man they believe will be able to meet their requests.
